This last week I have read a book called The Black Cat and Other Stories.
I choose this book because I like so much the horror stories and Edgar Allan Poe. The book has fulfilled my expectations. It is a very interesting book and so scary and that is what i am searching for. I have spend 2 hours reading the book. The are a lot of characters in this book:
The black cat:
The cat owner: The name and the age do no not appear in the storie. He is a man who loves the animals so much. He have a very good relationship with his wife and with his animals. His favourite animal is his cat. When he was a child, his family had a lot of animals. And then, when he grew up, he buy a lot of animals too.
His wife: His wife is a beautiful woman who like so much the animals too. He always stay with Pluto (the black cat) and love so much his husband. When she meet his husband for the first time she was very happy to know that he lies animals too.
Pluto: He is the black cat of the family. He is very large and sweet. He always stay with his owners. And love going to street with theme. At the beginning of the story his relationship with the husband is very good but at the end of the story, his relationship with the husband is bad. Because the cat is afraid about the husband.
The Oval portrait:
The master: He is a very formal person that likes to treat well the people. He have a servant. They are very good friends and always travel together. In the story he arrives at a home. In the home are a picture of a girl. A very young girl. And in the top of the history he can read a story of this portrait. It is very scary.
Pedro: He is the servant. He is very short and very kind. He have a very good relationship with his master. But he is a very scary person. And when they read the story of the portrait, he always is scared.
Berenice:
Egaeus: His is the main character of the story. His live in a very big house. When he was young his mother died in the library of the house. He likes so much reading books. He is a very tall person and a very formal person. He have a cousin, he almost do not speak with she. He past all of the day in the library. We see that almost at the end of the story, he becomes mad.
Berenice: She is the cousin of Egaeus. She is a very attractive girl, she has blonde hair and very white teeth. She is a persona that do not sèak so much. During the day she spend her time in the garden and sometimes going to speak with Egaeus. They have a good relationship.
The Mask of the Read Death:
Prince Prospero: He is a very brave prince. He always is happy and he treat very well the people of the kingdom. He is the main character. He is tall, and has brown eyes. He likes organizing parties on his palace with a lot of music and people.
The Read Death: It is a plague. The boo present it like a phantom that covers its face with a red mask and its body with a red dress. If you look to its eyes yo have the risk of die.
My favourite part the story is when Prince Prospero get his friends to his house. His relationship with his friend was very good and they can ask him for whatever they want. Here we can see how he save his friends. And in this house there are a lot of food. You can stay for 2 years there and you will have the enough food to survive.
But my favourite story is the black cat. The story begins with a husband and his wife. They live in a very big house with a lot of animals. They love the animals since they were young. The husband decide to buy a black cat. The cat is very large and sweet. They always stay together, in the house and in the street. First they have a very good relationship as i had said. As the story advance the husband start doing strange things. He hit the cat and his husband. At the end of the story he became mad and he do a lot of evil things.
I recommend this book for the people that like horror stories. All of the stories are very interesting and scary. It is very easy to red and to understand. If you like the murders, the uncomfortable situations, this is your perfect book.
