Scientific works: relativity and atomic energy
The theory of relativity:
The theory of special relativity was discovered by Albert Einstein in 1905. The theory of relativity was one of the more important scientific advance in the history. This theory have altered our vision of the time, of the espace, of the energy and this theory had philosophical repercussions. The most important things that we have to understand about this theory is how time depends on movement.
This theory was completed in 1915 with the general relativity theory. This one was more completed and explain better the consequences of the first theory.
Einstein based in two hipotesis to make this theory:
1: Albert Einstein said that if one law was fulfilled in one system, this same law had to be fulfilled in another different system.
2: The speed of light is a universal constant. This means that the speed of light always moved at the same time. The speed of light is defined with the letter C.
What is the relativity:
Imagine two people, one of those people is sitting in a train that move a 200 km/h, the other person is next to the train. He sees the train passing next to him. For the person that is inside of the train he think that the train is not moving, but it is. But for the person that is outside of the train is moving at 200km/h.
Imagine now the person that is inside the train shoot a bullet at 500 km/h. For the person that shoot the bullet sees slower than the outside person because the person that is outside sees the bullet moving at 700 km/h (is more velocity).
500+200= 700. We have to add the two velocities. The velocity of the train, and the velocity of the bullet.
If the person of the train turn on a flashlight, the person that is outside of the train will see the light moving only at the speed on light. In this case we have not to add the velocity of the train because the speed of light is a constant. It always move at the same velocity and also if the train move very slow the speed of light it is always the same.
The atomic energy:
Einstein propose the equation E = mc2. E represents the energy and the m represents the mass, with this two mixture it create the speed of light (c). The atomic energy it needs a lot of energy that is based with this relation (is also called the mass-energy relation).
What is the atomic energy?
The atomic energy it is produced by uranium actually. It’s the energy contained by nucleus of an atom. The atoms are the smallest particles. Nuclear power is the energy that maintain united the neutrons and protons. The atomic energy is produced to make electricity with the atomic energy machines.
