The Invisible Man was written in 1952 by Ralph Ellison. He was born in 1915 in Oklahoma City, in the United States. He died in 1994, in New York City. Ellison was an American novelist and literary critic. He is best known for his novel The Invisible Man, a horror and science fiction book.
This book is about Griffin, a mysterious man who arrives at a village called Iping, on a day of cold wind and snow. He decides to stay in a local inn that is owned by the Halls. He wears a long-sleeved, thick coat and gloves, his face hidden entirely by bandages except for a fake pink nose and a wide-brimmed hat. Griffin, a scientist, demands to be left alone and spends most of his time in his room working with different chemicals and formulas, only going out at night. While he is in the inn, hundreds of strange glass bottles arrive. Griffin tries to hide something.
In conclusion, I like this story, but it didn’t scare me when I read the book. I recommend The Invisible Man for all the public, but especially for teenagers and for people who like horror stories. It has been very interesting, enjoyable and I really like this style of novels. It has an easy vocabulary for me and I understood it very well. I have learned how black people lived at that time.
